Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: It.
Hold it first.
[00:00:04] Speaker B: It does do that.
I don't usually sit in this spot. It's kind of weird.
[00:00:14] Speaker A: Two dudes sitting in a hot tub.
That's money.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: It's pretty nice. Yeah. Well, let's start it, because we already started the chips.
[00:00:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:00:28] Speaker B: So hello, everybody. You already had the intro.
[00:00:34] Speaker A: Dude sitting in a hot tub.
[00:00:36] Speaker B: Aaron and Skylar here again.
It's been since Labor Day.
[00:00:44] Speaker A: Was it Labor Day weekend I came back? No, it had been Memorial Day.
[00:00:47] Speaker B: Memorial Day. Yeah.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: So it's been months.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Remember, you don't have to be that close like me.
[00:00:53] Speaker A: Well, it's true.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: So yeah. It's been a while since we've done this.
[00:00:59] Speaker A: It's been a while since we've seen each other.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:02] Speaker A: Life.
[00:01:02] Speaker B: Things happen, and that's okay. The whole point of this show is we are two dudes who get together when we can. We sit in the hot tub regardless of the condition.
[00:01:15] Speaker A: We actually added food coloring for dramatic effect.
[00:01:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
I've been fighting with this thing for weeks.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: It probably just needs new water.
[00:01:25] Speaker B: It does. And it's that time that we usually do it. But I just spent, like, $1,000 on the new lid, so we're waiting on that.
We're just going to do all that at once. So if we have to jostle this thing around, it's going to be a lot easier without 800 gallons of water in it.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: True.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: So, yeah, we're waiting for the lid, and then we'll drain it.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: Right on.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: So we might be a little itchy when we get out.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: It's all right, man.
[00:01:49] Speaker B: Other than that, how you been, obviously? I know I've been good.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: I mean, there's definitely been some snags in the road, but nothing that can't be mended or worked through. Nothing worth talking about on camera.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: Right.
The big thing is, at least in my opinion, is you've got some very cool projects going on now.
[00:02:17] Speaker A: I do. I finally started my own little solo thing.
I got sky comics, which will be linked down below. Yeah. Instagram and YouTube.
We'll just talk about comic books, man. The first seven episodes was me unboxing all the crap that I bought online, and I'm like, well, this is cool. It kind of shows off what I got, but I wanted to get a little more in depth with it and start having, like, conversational based episodes or informational based episodes, and not just people watching me spend all my money.
[00:02:58] Speaker B: You want it to be more than just an unboxing channel? Well, right, because it's a comic book. Right.
[00:03:06] Speaker A: It's not that interesting.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: Well, not only that, but that kind of content is, like, dead at this point.
Unless you're unbox therapy, dude, even unbox therapy's numbers are way worse than they've ever been.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Really?
[00:03:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:21] Speaker A: I mean, I don't watch them that much anymore.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: I don't either, but I have them in my subscription feed, like my notifications, so if there is something interesting I want to see, I'll go watch it.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: Or if I'm going to buy a new piece of tech, I'll see if he's reviewed it.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know that I value Lou's opinion as much in that regard because he is a techie, but he's not into it to where I'm getting the specs that I want and the experiences that I want out of it.
[00:03:52] Speaker A: Well, yeah, but that's more for you. I'm not super worried about the specs. I'm worried about usability and what a specific person is using it for and whether it does or does not do that. I don't really care about the for.
[00:04:05] Speaker B: Example, as context for this, when you were looking at those asus Pro Art Displays last night, did Lou have I.
[00:04:14] Speaker A: Didn'T look for it and I doubt it.
I just typed in Pro Art Displays 2023 because I wanted to see what people were using this year and how they liked it.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Okay, that's fair.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: Yeah, because I don't want a review of a monitor that's five years old.
[00:04:33] Speaker B: What if it was that good?
[00:04:34] Speaker A: I mean, if it was that good, it's that good because I still really want the extra wide. I just think it looks cool.
I would buy it because the specs on it aren't that much different than the other ones around the same price point. It's just wide.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: Right.
[00:04:52] Speaker A: And I like that.
[00:04:53] Speaker B: Well, ultra wide. I mean, a lot of people like them, and I don't have a problem with it per se, but personally, I wouldn't use it. In the case that you were talking about where you could have, like, two full size applications on one display.
[00:05:09] Speaker A: Well, no, the reason why I said that was because when I was selling insurance, there was a guy, he had this giant 30 inch monitor, 30, 32 inch monitor monitor, and he would have the multiple programs open, and there was enough real estate that you could do that. I wasn't necessarily saying the ultra wide. The ultra wide was so like, when I'm editing videos, I don't have to zoom in as much on the audio tracks and stuff. Yeah, you could see more of it. And when I'm adding backing tracks that are only two and a half minutes long, I don't have to keep scrolling.
[00:05:42] Speaker B: Well, one, I don't know about the editing software that you use, but a lot of them, you can kind of move your tiles and stuff. And a 27 inch, like I have, I can have it go all the way across the bottom of the screen, and it works pretty well.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: The new program I have does that.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: Like I said, I think you would do fine with minimum 27. Well, yeah, and you don't want to go much higher or bigger than 27 at 1440p. That's kind of like the perfect size, the pixel density ratio.
And then if you go ultra wide, at that point, you're leaning more towards 4K territory in the number of pixels.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: And you said the computer won't work with that.
[00:06:27] Speaker B: It'll work with it, but it's not going to be as pretty as you'd want it to be.
[00:06:32] Speaker A: Right. And I'm wanting quality because the width of the screen is mostly just for aesthetics.
[00:06:40] Speaker B: For you.
[00:06:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:42] Speaker B: Well, there's gaming functionalities with the TV.
[00:06:45] Speaker A: Well, yeah, but I don't really game, not yet. Well, I'm going home with a gaming computer, so things might change.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: You haven't fully tasted the glory of PC gaming.
[00:06:56] Speaker A: Well, and I still won't until I buy a monitor. Because I was thinking because like you said, I could use that keyboard. I don't sit that far away. I can just scoot my chair closer to the TV and then that way, because I'll buy a monitor at some point, or when my aunt asked me what I want for Christmas, I just.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: Be like, I want this. I want this. $1,500 asus Pro Art Display should shoot me.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: But she bought me a PlayStation Five last year.
[00:07:25] Speaker B: Yeah, but that's only $500. Yeah, well, I say only. It was only in comparison to a 1500.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: Well, yeah, but the monitor I was looking at was only like, 450.
[00:07:35] Speaker B: Oh, that's not bad at all.
[00:07:36] Speaker A: Yeah, because I was looking for it was either 27 or 30 inch at the pixels that you recommended. Yeah, 1440, 75 Hz. So if I decided to play games on it, it'll still keep up with it.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
And you're not into gaming like I am. I would never buy a 75 Hz panel.
[00:07:56] Speaker A: Why?
[00:07:57] Speaker B: Because I like more frames.
That panel is only capable of producing 75 frames per second.
[00:08:05] Speaker A: Well, right.
If I ever get into it and I have to spend one $200 on a monitor, I mean, you don't have.
[00:08:12] Speaker B: To there are cheaper ones with higher FPS, but you're going to either go down the 1080 or a smaller display.
[00:08:19] Speaker A: Which we're not doing that. If I'm going up, I'm going up.
[00:08:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
So you're going to spend probably $1,000 to get what you want.
[00:08:27] Speaker A: And that's way down the road.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: Right?
[00:08:30] Speaker A: Way down the road.
[00:08:31] Speaker B: So do you have anything interesting coming up with sky comics?
[00:08:38] Speaker A: Well, I got the episode we just did. I got to edit that. I got to edit that and turn it around quick because I don't have an episode scheduled for Wednesday yet.
[00:08:48] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:49] Speaker A: Because I had them like, four weeks in advance.
[00:08:51] Speaker B: Today is Sunday.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: Today's Sunday? Yeah.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: This will probably come out on Friday.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: And I had in the queue on YouTube, like, three or four episodes, so I was good for a few weeks.
Things happened, so I had a nice buffer. I didn't have to worry about anything. But now the buffer has ran out and I need to get back to work.
[00:09:13] Speaker B: So this is where those other episodes that were that different format kind of come in.
[00:09:17] Speaker A: They might get used, and I might just record new stuff because those are still just the unboxing I might take little snippets out of it and do like a picture in picture thing to kind of still show what I'm buying. But I'm going to start turning more over to actual content.
[00:09:34] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:09:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:09:37] Speaker B: Is it only on Instagram and YouTube?
[00:09:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:09:40] Speaker A: I'm going to see how those do before I start trying to throw any other social media in there.
[00:09:46] Speaker B: Do you want to talk about your store?
[00:09:49] Speaker A: My store? Oh, yeah. I'm live on ebay. There's not much on there currently.
I will be posting books and that's sky comics with three S's on ebay.
And I'll have a bunch of different stuff. There'll be Marvel, there will be some DC. It's mostly marvel. There's some independent stuff. Most of it is going to be like exclusive virgin covers and different variants and stuff like that. Not too much of just like the COVID A's, because cover A's nowadays aren't really worth much unless you get like issue zero. Well, issue zero isn't even really a thing all the time. And they're not always worth money. One doesn't mean anything. Zero doesn't mean anything.
[00:10:34] Speaker B: It used to.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
But yeah, I'm slowly working towards being able to just be my own boss.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:10:44] Speaker A: And I'm not going to get into specifics because I haven't gotten a definitive yes on it. But this show could be done more frequently in the near ish future if that business venture decides if things go that way. Yeah.
[00:11:02] Speaker B: If this became a monthly thing, that would be interesting.
[00:11:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: But then even at that point, you'll still be doing more with that new adventure.
[00:11:11] Speaker A: Well, yeah, absolutely.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: You'll have way more that you can do with sky comics.
[00:11:15] Speaker A: Yeah. It would open up a lot more.
So it seems like the universe is allowing things to fall into a favorable pattern.
There's other things I have to mike. Yeah. I just have to work on the things I have to work on before things start.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: Yeah. I got some work to do.
[00:11:42] Speaker B: There's a process.
[00:11:42] Speaker A: There's a process.
What about you? What have you been up to, dude?
[00:11:47] Speaker B: A lot. You know all of it.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: Well, yeah, they don't.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: They do not. So. Hello. I'm Aaron. I run this small company called Tanka Enterprises that does a lot of shit, according to him. Too many things.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:12:01] Speaker B: So lately I've been preparing for a convention that is this coming weekend. Maybe I'll put this out earlier so I can maybe get people to go to the con. It's called Rock River Valley GameCon.
It's going to be in Rockford, Illinois, at a place called the Lyron Club. I'll have a link to it down below as well.
It's r two. V two. GameCon on, I think.
[00:12:30] Speaker A: Just Facebook, I would imagine. I don't know.
[00:12:34] Speaker B: And it's a gaming convention that is run by my friends, friends of the show, I might have the balls to say the gaming outsider.
It's a very community driven video gaming podcast. I really enjoy it. Not just because they're my friends, but the conversations they have are very nice, very genuine, and there's a lot less I mean, it's like grassroots kind of reporting sort of things, but it's way more than just that. It feels like you're just hanging out with friends, which is cool. So they have a convention that they started.
I think the first one was 2018, 2019 and COVID shut down any sort of subsequent con and then they finally got it set up to go again this year. So what I've been doing for it is I will have a booth with minifigs that are all raw, unpainted, 3D printed figs that are going to be sold at really low prices.
I'm going to have an OBO bin. Basically. I'm going to have a bin of stuff that you tell me how much you want to pay for it and chances are it's yours.
[00:13:50] Speaker A: Yeah, because that's what you do at Cons.
[00:13:53] Speaker B: Right. I'm going to have that.
I'm going to have map pieces for tabletop stuff. So like some decorative things to build out your map. The cool thing for me is I'm going to have a preorder form available for anyone that wants to buy my stuff that I don't have there in person.
You will get the con prices on that preorder and it's going to be like first come, first serve.
[00:14:25] Speaker A: So like, the further down, so many spots away.
[00:14:27] Speaker B: And I'll ship it to you for free.
So there's going to be a minimum purchase of like two items, I think.
[00:14:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: Just so I'm not totally getting destroyed financially on it, just being honest.
So there's going to be all those there. I'm going to have some used PC peripherals there that are going to be sold for dirt cheap. I just sold a couple to you that are like 80% off.
[00:14:57] Speaker A: I would say more maybe for you. Yeah.
[00:15:01] Speaker B: At the con. Maybe not.
I'll see how people feel about it. That's going to be kind of throw me a price and I'll let you know.
But here's my two favorite parts. Like, 3D printing is awesome to me. I really like doing it.
I'm going to be hosting two experiences for Congoers at the show.
If you come to my booth, you'll have the opportunity to experience, in my opinion, and a lot of people's opinions, the highest quality home VR gaming experience. That isn't $10,000, right?
[00:15:39] Speaker A: It's attainable.
[00:15:40] Speaker B: It is very obtainable and it's still readily available. You can go buy a kit tonight and you'll get it within a week.
And that's the valve index.
So you can come to my booth and there may or may not be a line. I don't know how well it's going to do. Right.
I'm in the line of the first probably five people that you will see at the con. So you can come in, check out our stock. We're going to have Pearlers there as well, which are the little beads that you melt together into art things. So we're going to have, like, gaming related pearler beads.
And she's going to have an order form as well.
You can come check out VR.
There will be a time limit if there's a line. If there isn't, then you can hang out until you fall on the ground and puke for all I care.
[00:16:30] Speaker A: Right.
Few buckets sold separately.
[00:16:34] Speaker B: Yeah, print on demand.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: Hold it for like, 2 hours.
[00:16:47] Speaker B: I haven't really decided on the games quite yet, but it might be something along the lines of, like, beat saber simple. Or pistol whip. The other one with guns.
And if there's like a lull, like, there's nobody waiting to try it out. I might throw on Half Life Alex and have people experience, like, the pinnacle of at home VR gaming.
We'll see how that goes.
And then on the other side, we're going to be hosting I got a lot going on at this time.
[00:17:23] Speaker A: Yeah. Dude, you sound a little overstretched.
[00:17:29] Speaker B: Not for this, because I got more people for this.
[00:17:31] Speaker A: That's fair.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: We're hosting a clone hero tournament where people can come sign up for the tournament. It's probably going to be early afternoon that it happens. I think the con closed at like seven or eight. So it's probably going to happen after lunch, but before dinner where you can sign up. It's going to be just a little bracket tournament. And each bracket is going to increase in difficulty of songs and you work your way up. And I still haven't even decided what the winner is going to get. I might just throw them $100.
[00:18:03] Speaker A: That'd be cool.
[00:18:04] Speaker B: Yeah, maybe like $100 and then $50 and then $25 to $20. I mean, whatever.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: You could maybe print something off. That's really cool too.
[00:18:16] Speaker B: Well, I could, except I could spend however much time trying to find some sort of trophy thing yeah, with a machine that doesn't work. So I won't be able to print it anyways because that failed on me.
And the new one's not going to likely not going to be here in time. I will be shocked if it's here by Wednesday.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: Yeah, but then you got to be shocked.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: That'll take me an hour max.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: Oh, really?
[00:18:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
But then what's the value in this? It's just a 20 cent chunk of plastic.
[00:18:52] Speaker A: Yeah, but you could I mean, people want money. Well, yeah, they want money.
[00:18:57] Speaker B: Not useless bobble.
[00:18:59] Speaker A: Well, it would be the $100 and the useless bobble.
[00:19:03] Speaker B: Oh, so you want me to push the button? Push the button.
[00:19:06] Speaker A: Duh.
[00:19:07] Speaker B: Okay. You know, one of these times we're just going to stop in the middle of a conversation, be like, come back next time.
[00:19:14] Speaker A: But not this time.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: No, not this time. Because of the con.
So this is for you, gaming outsider. Because I'm hot.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: Really? Yeah, I'm comfortable, I'm hot. But yeah, do that and have I mean, if you don't have the printer in time. You don't have the printer in time. But you could put whatever the logo is of the con, like find somebody that might be able to make you something that's on the trophy for the first two prizes. And then the third one, they just get cash. A trophy?
[00:19:45] Speaker B: Just a trophy? No cash for third place?
[00:19:47] Speaker A: For third place. No.
[00:19:49] Speaker B: Wow.
No cash for podiums.
[00:19:52] Speaker A: No cash. No cash for third yeah.
[00:19:55] Speaker B: I don't know.
I'd been thinking about what to do for that for months.
And the initial plan was to have it be kind of like a 50 50 raffle sort of situation where you pay to get in and then the winner gets half and we get half.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, that's not a bad idea either.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: No, but there's legal implications for that. And I don't have a lawyer to just call up and be like, hey, what do I have to do legally to do this?
[00:20:25] Speaker A: A lot of that stuff, because, okay, so I buy stuff on whatnot? And they do stuff like that for buyers. Giveaways and different giveaways. They'd have other stuff that they would do. And you have to be upfront. It has to be written clearly. There can't be any, like, buy the ticket, win a prize. It just has to be very straightforward as to what you are doing. And you would just have to also claim whatever money you make.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: Right. I mean, I'm going to do that has to be in Illinois at least. There has to be a free method of entry, which I'm not going to be able to do there.
And the monies that are going out are very unlikely going to be enough to where the person is going to have to file it on income tax because it's still technically an income at that point.
Because I think the crossover point for that is like, five grand or something weird. Yeah, there's no way I'm going to have that many people.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: No.
And you could even switch it around like, okay, if you want a free entry, you get a ticket.
People that spend to get in get two or three.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
There is no ticket. It's not a raffle. You're buying to get into the tournament. Right. You're paying for your spot.
[00:21:51] Speaker A: So you're.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: Not going to get multiple spots. You're going to pay. You're going to be placed in the bracket. And if you lose, you're out.
[00:21:58] Speaker A: I mean, you could always just kind of do it under the table.
[00:22:01] Speaker B: No, especially not now because it's now on the Internet.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: Got a channel that's not even public.
[00:22:08] Speaker B: Oh, it's public.
[00:22:09] Speaker A: It just can't be found.
[00:22:10] Speaker B: It's harder to find. No, I think I'm just going to do like, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, have some money.
Had I thought about that sooner, I'd have tried to hook up with some other businesses.
We want to host this at the con. Say the business is already going to be at the con.
[00:22:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:30] Speaker B: Just replay, for example. They'll be there. So had I thought about it, I could have got in touch with them and be like, would you be willing to have a prize for the winners of this tournament? There's other tournaments that are going to be going on there, too. They got a big main stage. I don't know how big it is, but it's sizable. Where they're going to be hosting the voice actors that are going to be there as well as they're doing like fighting game tournament things.
So that's going to be on the main stage. My stuff is I think we'll just do monetary for 1st, 2nd, third. I might even throw in like a free figure, whatever I got left if you want. Well, yeah, or you get a free order. You get two free figures on order.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Whatever, figure something out.
[00:23:20] Speaker B: Actually, that's what I might do. I might do money on top.
And then first gets three figures, second gets two figures, third gets one figure if they want it.
[00:23:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:33] Speaker B: It's not going to be or it's going to be and so R two, V two is going on.
I have my other series called Zero to Hero that's been on hiatus because of the Con, where I'm progressing through, trying to become as much as a professional driver as I can.
[00:23:56] Speaker A: Among the laundry list of other things.
[00:23:59] Speaker B: That he does, it's not that long. I film videos, I edit videos, I upload videos and then I 3D print things.
[00:24:07] Speaker A: That's a lot. Editing videos takes forever.
Especially when you're doing it for what, three or four shows?
[00:24:13] Speaker B: Six total. Yeah. But I have templates for everything, so I just plug stuff in. Even still, my editing, especially since the new PC went from an episode a day to I could knock out a month in a day.
I know you're referencing our conversation earlier that they're unaware of, and that's okay.
Apparently you're unaware of it too.
[00:24:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:47] Speaker B: About me having too much and I oh, yeah, everything.
[00:24:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
Which I stand by and that's okay.
[00:24:54] Speaker B: You are welcome to have your you are entitled to your own opinion.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Yeah, it's true.
[00:25:02] Speaker B: So are they.
[00:25:05] Speaker A: Almost died.
[00:25:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:09] Speaker A: Man, I'm glad that I got to come back. This was a last minute trip.
[00:25:12] Speaker B: It was out of the blue.
[00:25:14] Speaker A: He FaceTimed me and we were just talking and I don't know how we got on the subject, but I'm like, I don't have anything going on this weekend.
[00:25:21] Speaker B: Well, so you had someone that you might have gone and hung out with.
[00:25:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:27] Speaker B: You were considering it. And then we had been talking for, I don't know, well over an hour, I think, at that point.
[00:25:32] Speaker A: Yeah, right around an hour.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: Because I was showing you what I had going on. We were talking about your camera because you got a new camera, which they will see for the second time with our episode on Sky Comics, and then we started talking about how I have the Insta 360 and you want to try the bullet time, so we should do that after this.
[00:25:52] Speaker A: I'm down for that. That was months ago, though, that we talked. Well, not months. It was over a month ago because I've had the camera for a while.
[00:25:58] Speaker B: I don't think it's been a month.
[00:26:00] Speaker A: I bought it before the situation, so it's been about a month, maybe three, four weeks.
[00:26:06] Speaker B: I thought you were only in for a week.
[00:26:08] Speaker A: Yeah, and I've been out for two.
[00:26:10] Speaker B: Have you been out for two?
[00:26:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:12] Speaker B: Well, fuck me.
[00:26:14] Speaker A: Time's been going by, dog.
[00:26:16] Speaker B: All I do is print all day.
[00:26:19] Speaker A: It's going by quick.
[00:26:21] Speaker B: And then when we're done with this, we can do the bullet time thing. And then I have an episode of the Alphabet Suite that I got to go edit for tomorrow.
[00:26:27] Speaker A: And then we got to wipe a computer.
You just hit the factory reset button.
[00:26:33] Speaker B: Yeah, sure.
Just unplug it, let it sit for a bit, plug it back in. Right? Yeah.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: No comcast customer support.
[00:26:44] Speaker B: So, yeah, we were just chit chatting and then you're like, Nah, fuck it. I'm going to come out there and I'm just like, you know I'm always here, right?
[00:26:53] Speaker A: Didn't even tell the parents.
[00:26:54] Speaker B: It doesn't matter.
[00:26:56] Speaker A: Your dad looked so confused when I was standing in the kitchen and he came home the other day, he was like, hey, what's up, man?
Yeah, it's just last minute. We didn't get to do real versus real. I haven't really focused on that at all.
There's been other things grabbing my attention.
We got next month you have November.
[00:27:21] Speaker B: 1 for the third episode, fourth episode of Real Versus Real.
[00:27:27] Speaker A: So hopefully you all and that may or may not continue. I don't know the show itself. Yeah.
[00:27:32] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:27:33] Speaker A: That's okay because there's a lot of other stuff going on that would be more promising.
It may not be just the podcast.
[00:27:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:27:42] Speaker A: It may not get tossed entirely, but it could be put on the back burner for a while, realistically.
[00:27:49] Speaker B: Yeah, that's fine. I mean, that one makes more sense unless you start doing it yourself.
[00:27:54] Speaker A: Right.
With the amount of research. And then I have to type up stuff. I have to sit down for 2 hours and watch a movie. Watch documentaries.
[00:28:03] Speaker B: Right.
[00:28:03] Speaker A: It takes a long time to prepare a, what, 15 minutes episode?
[00:28:09] Speaker B: I don't think there's been a single one that was 15 minutes.
[00:28:12] Speaker A: It was right around 15.
[00:28:13] Speaker B: I think they're all at least 2025.
[00:28:15] Speaker A: Well, either way, that's two or three days worth of stuff to do for 25 minutes of content.
[00:28:24] Speaker B: Right.
Whereas with your comics, you buy them and you talk about them.
[00:28:29] Speaker A: I don't even need to buy them anymore because I haven't uploaded content on every single book. And there's other things that I could there's just more to do because I already have a lot of that knowledge.
[00:28:41] Speaker B: And you seem to be having more fun with it.
[00:28:43] Speaker A: Have a lot more fun.
[00:28:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:28:45] Speaker A: The real versus real kind of turned into homework.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: And that's fine.
[00:28:53] Speaker A: Not every creative idea works out, but every creative idea is worth trying. Worth trying 100%.
[00:29:03] Speaker B: And if you don't pick it back up, then it's one less show for me to do.
[00:29:09] Speaker A: We got other avenues where there's a.
[00:29:13] Speaker B: Lot of promising prospects with, like, the.
[00:29:18] Speaker A: Alliteration.
[00:29:21] Speaker B: Twelve to 24 months.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: Twelve to 48 months is four years.
[00:29:25] Speaker B: I mean, technically that's also true.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
I don't know. Just based on that conversation, I would say within the next twelve months.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: That's a very positive outlook on it.
[00:29:40] Speaker A: Yeah. But realistically, I wouldn't be able to do anything until my lease is up.
[00:29:46] Speaker B: Right.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: Because I definitely wouldn't be able to.
[00:29:50] Speaker B: Afford less than a year.
[00:29:51] Speaker A: Yeah. It's May 1. I have to be owed or resign.
[00:29:58] Speaker B: Right.
[00:30:00] Speaker A: So I'd have to have an answer by then and a place to go. Yeah.
[00:30:09] Speaker B: Which there's always a room for you here.
[00:30:11] Speaker A: Yeah, but I got a lot of shit now.
[00:30:13] Speaker B: You do have a lot of stuff now.
[00:30:14] Speaker A: I got stuff. It's not just bags of clothes.
[00:30:16] Speaker B: Right.
But if you're making money already or you have some saved up oh, yeah.
[00:30:23] Speaker A: I had to stop buying stuff.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: Or your stuff starts bringing in something.
You'd be able to have a unit for a little bit or something, or maybe even get your own place because.
[00:30:38] Speaker A: It'S a lot cheaper here. And I can get an apartment twice the size of mine for like two thirds the cost here.
I pay $1,100 a month for my apartment, and it's a one bedroom. I can get a two bedroom here for $900.
[00:30:54] Speaker B: That's not a third of the price.
[00:30:56] Speaker A: I said two thirds. It's a little more, but.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: I don't even know that you could find that in town anymore outside of the hood.
Rent is going crazy out here, too.
[00:31:09] Speaker A: Has it?
[00:31:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Unless you're in the hood, you don't want to go there.
[00:31:16] Speaker A: No.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: Dude, no offense to the people in those situations, but we don't want to go there.
[00:31:23] Speaker A: Yeah. No, I've been there, done that.
[00:31:25] Speaker B: I was raised there.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: Your neighborhood wasn't that bad. The neighborhood I grew up in, the one that had crack houses and like, brothels and stuff around the corner.
[00:31:36] Speaker B: You were just down the street from me.
[00:31:38] Speaker A: It was a solid mile.
No, from Parmley up Broadway.
[00:31:45] Speaker B: That was not a mile.
[00:31:46] Speaker A: Yeah, it was.
[00:31:47] Speaker B: There's no way it was a mile. I was way too fat as a kid. I would never walk a mile intentionally.
[00:31:53] Speaker A: You never walked down there?
[00:31:54] Speaker B: Yes, I did.
[00:31:55] Speaker A: When we got older, it was like late middle school, early high school. Yeah, and I wasn't living there at that time. That was my grandparents.
And you had a car? You didn't walk anywhere. Fat boy.
[00:32:10] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying.
[00:32:11] Speaker A: I.
[00:32:11] Speaker B: Wouldn't, but I had.
[00:32:16] Speaker A: So we'll see what happens. Man, I could be back in Rockford within the next year or local.
Local enough to well, in Rockford, if I can get my license and a car figured out or if I don't. And then maybe surrounding areas if I can get a car license, because I'm cool with renting a house out in the middle of nowhere as long as I can get Internet and I don't care. Well, I can't afford one of these house. Well, actually, your parents mortgage isn't much more than my rent.
[00:32:53] Speaker B: But that's just paying for the house.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: Yeah, I know.
[00:32:56] Speaker B: That is nothing else?
[00:32:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:01] Speaker B: There'S a lot of maintenance involved here.
[00:33:03] Speaker A: Well, yeah, that's owning a house. When you rent a house, you don't have to do all that.
[00:33:07] Speaker B: Not everything, but it also depends on your landlord, too.
[00:33:12] Speaker A: That's stuff that will be getting considered shortly, time for research is not yeah, exactly. Like getting an idea of what it would cost for me to move back.
[00:33:26] Speaker B: Right.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: Because I would have to hire movers because while I know I have friends that would help, I live on the fourth floor and there's no elevator.
[00:33:39] Speaker B: Yeah, you can hire the people to get it out of there. And then I'll just have my truck with a trailer outside.
[00:33:45] Speaker A: I got a lot of stuff, man.
[00:33:47] Speaker B: Right.
Because if I get a trailer on my truck yeah, that's true. But I don't know that I would want to drive a trailer through that little ass neighborhood. That would suck.
Just get two dudes in a truck. Two men in the truck.
[00:34:00] Speaker A: Okay, so when Stacia sent me that stuff that she did, do you know how much it cost?
[00:34:04] Speaker B: No, I have no idea.
[00:34:05] Speaker A: It's like $900 with tip. Like $900.
And I have a lot more stuff, so it would take longer to load and unload.
[00:34:19] Speaker B: Right, but it's also like a two hour drive for a truck on top of the load and unload.
[00:34:29] Speaker A: It would be cheaper just to throw each of my friends maybe $100 and rent a truck.
[00:34:36] Speaker B: Right.
Then you got to have someone with balls enough or perhaps overconfidence enough to drive a moving truck through Chicago.
[00:34:50] Speaker A: You don't have to go through Chicago. It's three blocks and you're on the highway and you're not a lot of bad things can happen and you're not box. Not in my neighborhood.
[00:35:01] Speaker B: I'm not saying getting bugged. I'm saying running into shit.
[00:35:05] Speaker A: Yeah, but it'd be all right. That's all stuff to worry about later, though. Yeah, but yeah, things could be happening.
[00:35:13] Speaker B: Whereas this show happens more. Your stuff gets crazier, and you can entertain these people that may or may not be watching us right now. If you are watching us. Hi. Thanks, love. I'm hot.
[00:35:34] Speaker A: He's a wuss. It's beautiful.
But yeah, dude, we'll go back home tomorrow.
Going to Lake of the Ozarks this weekend.
[00:35:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:46] Speaker A: It's going to be fun.
[00:35:47] Speaker B: Never been barely even know what it is.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: I have no idea what it is. Well, it's a big lake in Missouri.
[00:35:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I've heard of that.
[00:35:54] Speaker A: There's a lot of rednecks and, like, hill people that I'm not super excited about. But it's nature, Bobby.
But it's nature that's going to be so relaxing. Might do some fishing. Do some hiking.
Campfires fishing. I like fishing.
See if we can catch some stuff and eat it.
[00:36:21] Speaker B: Hey, as long as you have a good time.
I care about that.
[00:36:25] Speaker A: You ever catch a cleaner fish? It's fun.
[00:36:27] Speaker B: I've caught a fish.
It was a cat and release.
[00:36:33] Speaker A: Catch it, clean it, eat it.
[00:36:38] Speaker B: Fishing is boring.
[00:36:40] Speaker A: Well, it's not an exciting pastime. It's meditative. It's something to be in the moment.
[00:36:46] Speaker B: It wasn't for me.
[00:36:48] Speaker A: How long ago did you go fishing? You're probably young.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: I was a tween.
[00:36:53] Speaker A: Yeah, you changed a lot.
[00:36:56] Speaker B: Yeah. I still don't want to go fishing.
[00:36:58] Speaker A: We will at some point. You might.
[00:37:00] Speaker B: Going to force me to do shit.
[00:37:02] Speaker A: We'll go at some point. We'll make content. Maybe when I'm like, 80, we'll make content.
[00:37:06] Speaker B: You think that's enough to convince me? Yes, he's right.
But at that point, I'd be going to prove a point.
[00:37:15] Speaker A: That's fine.
[00:37:16] Speaker B: I'm bored.
[00:37:17] Speaker A: You could bitch all you want. Just shut up. Scaring off fish.
[00:37:26] Speaker B: I would rather sit on the back of the lot with a fire.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: You can literally do that while fishing.
[00:37:36] Speaker B: Midnight.
[00:37:38] Speaker A: You can fish in the middle of the night.
[00:37:41] Speaker B: Well, then what's the point of the fishing?
[00:37:43] Speaker A: What do you mean?
[00:37:45] Speaker B: I'm there for that.
[00:37:47] Speaker A: To catch the fish, eat the fish, be one with nature.
[00:37:52] Speaker B: I'll have brought food to be one.
[00:37:55] Speaker A: With nature to remind us of where we came from.
[00:37:59] Speaker B: I came from the stars.
So did you.
[00:38:04] Speaker A: What did you smoke today that you didn't share with me?
[00:38:06] Speaker B: Nothing at all. I do have mushroom supplements, though.
[00:38:10] Speaker A: That's different.
[00:38:12] Speaker B: They've been real nice so far. I'm on day five. I think day four or five.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: Feeling sharp.
[00:38:18] Speaker B: I'm feeling a little bit more of my brain function than I've have in a long time.
[00:38:22] Speaker A: That's good.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: Which is probably why I'm a little more argumentative.
[00:38:28] Speaker A: Yeah, you've been feisty the last couple of days.
[00:38:39] Speaker B: Oh, that was my butthole. A jet hit my butthole.
[00:38:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: No, not been there, done that. Not a fan.
[00:38:50] Speaker A: This guy looks like cotton candy.
[00:38:52] Speaker B: It does. It's kind of pink. It's kind of purple.
[00:38:54] Speaker A: I like it.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
I think rain is going to be coming soon.
[00:38:58] Speaker A: Possibly likely.
[00:39:01] Speaker B: I can feel it in my knee.
[00:39:03] Speaker A: What is that out there in the yard? Is that a tree stump?
[00:39:06] Speaker B: That is a four foot tall five foot tall tree stump. Yeah.
[00:39:09] Speaker A: Did you guys put that there?
[00:39:10] Speaker B: No.
[00:39:11] Speaker A: There was not always a tree there. Yeah, there was.
[00:39:15] Speaker B: Trimmed. So they trimmed a long limb when they installed the solar panels. Okay, this will be the last story.
[00:39:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: The jets are off. Never mind. Next time.
[00:39:28] Speaker A: So they trimmed a next episode of Dragon Ball z.
[00:39:33] Speaker B: They talk about cutting trees.
So there's a big limb and the face that's, like, facing us, that was that big limb. So they cut that off to put the solar panel arrays in.
And they did it wrong. First off, you know, the whole issue.
[00:39:53] Speaker A: With I was here for all of it. I do not remember them cutting down a tree.
[00:39:56] Speaker B: They didn't. They cut off a limb on that tree. Didn't seal it off at all. So then it got infected and died.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: So that's why it's white, so we can shoot it.
[00:40:11] Speaker B: Well, the point is that's dangerous, by the way. The point is at some point, I don't know if they've changed their mind about it, but the point last I knew was to have someone come carve it.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: It's never going to get done.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: If I pay for it, it will.
[00:40:30] Speaker A: Well, yeah, but it's out there in the middle of nowhere.
That's no man's land.
[00:40:38] Speaker B: Well, there's going to be things out there once we get there. The shooting range is going to go out there.
[00:40:43] Speaker A: You guys have been in this house for a long time. Three years. It's been more than three years.
[00:40:47] Speaker B: Four years.
[00:40:48] Speaker A: It's been more than four.
[00:40:50] Speaker B: No, it hasn't.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:40:52] Speaker B: No, we bought it December 2018. We didn't actually move in until spring 2019.
[00:41:00] Speaker A: COVID was 2019. Right.
[00:41:02] Speaker B: Well, it started in China in November. In 2019? Yeah.
[00:41:06] Speaker A: Oh, no, I thought beginning 2019. So I'm just I'm you're a year off. Yeah, COVID my timeline's off.
[00:41:12] Speaker B: COVID hit internationally news in 2020.
[00:41:16] Speaker A: Okay. Because I was here for all that.
[00:41:18] Speaker B: 19 is when we moved down to North Carolina.
[00:41:21] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Because I moved in here shortly before.
[00:41:25] Speaker B: We went down to North Carolina.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:41:29] Speaker B: So, yeah, the gun range is going to go out there in that area of the property, and then there's going to be a gazebo somewhere over in that area with a big fancy fire pit thing that's going to be better than the one at Broadway.
And I think there's going to be an actually cordoned off burn area for.
[00:41:57] Speaker A: All of that garbage.
[00:41:59] Speaker B: That's not garbage. That's all usable for, I don't know, the closest you can get to a bonfire, I suppose.
[00:42:08] Speaker A: Got you.
[00:42:09] Speaker B: Without burning down all the trees. There's a lot of trees back there.
[00:42:11] Speaker A: There is.
[00:42:13] Speaker B: So, yeah, there's a lot of stuff we're doing on the property here.
But you know, the old man.
[00:42:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:42:22] Speaker B: Runs in the family. Having too many things to do.
That's my feet.
[00:42:28] Speaker A: Giving themselves too many things to do.
[00:42:30] Speaker B: I'm going to do an only fans for my feet.
[00:42:32] Speaker A: Don't do that. You'll lose money.
[00:42:36] Speaker B: Can you lose money on only fans?
[00:42:38] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:42:40] Speaker B: Do you know this from personal experience?
[00:42:42] Speaker A: No. You can lose money in anything. Time.
[00:42:44] Speaker B: Is that's where we're ending this one? Everybody feet picks. Stick your feet up.
Now kiss.
[00:42:55] Speaker A: That was gay.
[00:42:58] Speaker B: My name's Aaron.
[00:43:00] Speaker A: I'm skyler Skylar.
[00:43:02] Speaker B: We are two dudes in a hot tub, sitting in a hot tub, 5ft.
[00:43:08] Speaker A: Apart, and he's gay.
[00:43:11] Speaker B: Only a little bit.
[00:43:14] Speaker A: Catch you next time, asalawego.
See you later.
[00:43:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I know.
[00:43:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:43:28] Speaker B: I'm not going to take too long to get out because I'm going to get way too cold.
I don't want to be cold.
It's already going to suck anyways.
[00:43:39] Speaker A: It's already what?
[00:43:40] Speaker B: It's already going to suck anyways.
[00:43:41] Speaker A: It too bad.
[00:43:43] Speaker B: You said you were hot inside, and then you come out of there, it's super cold, and then the water in your trunks make it extra cold.
[00:43:54] Speaker A: Blue.
[00:43:57] Speaker B: Look at that big old man titty. Big old man titty.
